So...
While putting in a couple miles at the gym, I checked out the Vans Warped Tour live stream on Youtube.
I'll have to say, either I'm aging in a way I swore I never would, or music today genuinely sucks. Most of the bands that I watched (which wasn't all of them) consisted of makeup plastered, screaming kids. I was not at all amused.
There was the exception of the always entertaining Bayside, and two new favorites, We The Kings and Breathe Carolina.
Right now, after listening to them a bit after the gym, I'm a bit obsessed with Breathe Carolina's newest album Savages.
It's just the perfect sound track to anything you may be doing through out your day... Plus excellent rocking out gym music for my run.
I'll start with the track "I Don't Know What I'm Doing". Oh. My. God. When I saw them perform this song on the live streaming, I felt involved. Like they were performing just for me! I wanted to DANCE. To RUN! The album as a whole is very energized. I was suprised, after hearing the first few bands, that I found a band I enjoyed. Although it is not the old school punk rock that I adore, it IS something all it's own. A new genre. Rock+dance+hipsters(?)=eargasm. Just take a listen!
